A French tenor trained in France and Belgium, Teddy Métriau stands out for his powerful voice and remarkable projection, recently praised by Olyrix, Resmusica and Première Loge Opéra. Winner of the Special Prize at the Triomphe de l’Art International Competition in Brussels in 2022, he has studied with artists such as Mireille Delunsch, Gilles Ragon and Kévin Amiel.
He made his stage debut at the KVS in Brussels in the role of Régor in Maurice Yvain’s Yes.
He also performed the roles of Remendado in Bizet’s Carmen and the Usciere in Verdi’s Rigoletto in Germany and France with Opera Classica Europa.
In 2024, he took on his first major role, Pinkerton, in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, as part of the Escales Lyriques festival, under the auspices of the Opéra de Metz. In 2025, he will play Il Messaggero in Verdi’s Aida at the Stade Saint-Symphorien, alongside Marcelo Alvarez and conducted by Paolo Arrivabeni.
Alongside his opera engagements, he is regularly invited to give recitals, notably at the Fêtes Napoléon III in Vichy, Schloss Beuggen in Germany and Theater Basel, performing a repertoire of melodies and opera arias with orchestra or piano.
