Originally from Valais, Lorène Quinodoz is an artist at the crossroads of various inspirations, passionate about composing and performing traditional music from Switzerland and beyond. With a Master’s degree in Performance from the Bern University of the Arts (HKB), she has developed a unique musical identity in which her voice engages in dialogue with the nyckelharpa, a traditional Swedish instrument.
Creativity is the driving force behind her work. With a repertoire of around twenty works, she draws inspiration from the richness of the world’s musical heritage and the poetry of the lyrics to craft a folk universe that is both deeply rooted and universal.
Today, her ambition is to bring local cultures to life through contemporary and daring projects. This drive is taking shape with the CHOUK project, born out of a collaboration with the writer Marlène Mauris, which revisits the Evolène dialect. Following a series of concerts across Switzerland, this project will result in an album due for release in late 2026, featuring ten original pieces.
