Born in 1998, Aurore Grosclaude joined Christian Favre’s class at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne at the age of 15, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree and then a Master’s degree in music education with honors. She then honed her skills as a soloist at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in the class of Michel Dalberto and Claire-Marie Le Guay, as well as with Claudio Martínez Mehner in Basel and Cologne.
Passionate about artistic research and teaching, she is currently pursuing a PhD in musical performance as part of the Glarean Doctoral College (University of Strasbourg and Hochschule für Musik Freiburg) and has been teaching piano at the Lausanne Conservatory since 2024. Her research focuses in particular on the interpretation of Robert Schumann’s piano works. Aurore Grosclaude has also benefited from instruction by prominent figures such as Abdel Rahman El Bacha, Pascal Rogé, Lilya Zilberstein, Vincent Coq, Eldar Nebolsin, Anton Kernjak, Florent Bocard, Cédric Pescia, Steven Isserlis, François Salque, and Renaud Capuçon, and frequently collaborates with artists from diverse backgrounds. She has created several productions blending music, dance, poetry, and theater and collaborates with contemporary composers such as William Blank, Jean-Sélim Abdelmoula, and Guy-François Leuenberger.
Aurore has won several prizes and awards as a soloist: she is a two-time winner of first prize with honors from the jury at the finals of the Swiss Youth Music Competition (2011 and 2015), won third prize at the Lausanne Music Interpretation Competition (2015 and 2021), and received special mentions in the finals of the Rosario Marciano Piano Competition in Vienna (2016) and the Competition for Young Performers in Val de Travers (2018). She also received support from the Rahn Kulturfonds Zürich in 2021 and is a quarterfinalist in the Geneva, Clara Haskil, and Busoni competitions. Additionally, she served on the jury of the Géza Anda International Piano Competition in 2024.
She performs in recitals in Switzerland and abroad, as well as a soloist with the Budweis Philharmonic Orchestra, the Sinfonieorchester Basel, the Nexus Orchestra, the Orchestre des Jeunes de la Suisse Romande, and the Camerata de Lausanne. She also performs regularly at festivals, both as a chamber musician and a soloist, including the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, Lavaux Classic, the Sine Nomine Festival, the Week-End Musical de Pully, Puplinge Classique, and the Festival 4 Saisons, with which she recorded a CD produced by Claves Records. She shares the stage with renowned performers such as violinists Gilles Apap and Pierre Amoyal, the Sine Nomine Quartet, and harpist Tjasha Gafner, with whom she will record an album featuring original transcriptions for harp and piano in 2025.
