In collaboration with Swiss Made Culture, La Musique du Lieu invites you to discover iconic sites in the Crans-Montana region by exploring its cultural and musical heritage.
The words
The uprooting of vineyards in Valais is accelerating due to a major wine industry crisis. The causes include declining consumption and foreign competition. These vineyards shape the landscape of our region and its history. Sabine Bonvin, an oenologist at the family-run Feuille Morte winery in Flanthey, and Samuel Clavien of the Cave de la Pierre in Venthône, have decided to no longer devote all their farmland to vineyards. This bold initiative is inspired by syntropic agriculture. Visionary or naive? A healthy risk taken by passionate enthusiasts? Find out at Château de Vaas, an iconic site for Cornalin and wine.
Music
A lover of classical and traditional music, Valais-based singer Laurène Quinodoz presents a repertoire that blends classical music, folk, and her own compositions. In a duo with accordionist Théodore Monnet, she takes the audience on a journey of a thousand hues. Her repertoire is sung in French, the Évolé dialect, and occasionally yodled in Swiss German.
