
Guillaume Bouillon
Originally from the Nord region of France, Guillaume began his cello studies with Emmanuel Puigdemont and then Hélène Dautry. He entered Patrick Demenga’s class at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in 2012 and his Concert Master’s degree in 2014. He also obtained a 2nd Master’s degree in pedagogy in 2016 from Marc Jaermann.
He is a substitute with the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève and the Sinfonietta de Lausanne.
In chamber music, he is founder of the Eras duo with guitarist Bruno Dias and of the Auliden ensemble. From 2013 to 2019, he was a member of the contemporary ensemble Sargo, with whom he worked as a workshop at the Lucerne University of Music and Performing Arts, and gave numerous concerts. Since 2014 he has also been a member of the contemporary ensemble Diachronie, based in the Fribourg region. He currently teaches cello at the Conservatoire Nord Vaudois and the EM in Epalinges.
In 2012, he performed the Saint-Saëns concerto as soloist with the Allegro Passionnata orchestra. He performs solo and chamber music at various festivals, including the Bach Festival in Lausanne as a soloist, the Jardins Musicaux festival with the Sine Nomine quartet, the Montreux Jazz Festival as a quartet and the Festival des Musiques Sacrées in Fribourg. In 2018, he received a grant from the Irène Dénéréaz Foundation.
Yu-Hsuan Kuo
Born in Taiwan, Yu-Hsuan began studying the piano at the age of 3 and the flute at the age of 8. At 17, she performed the Reinecke concerto as a soloist. In 2009, she entered Philippe Pierlot’s class at the CRR de Rueil-Malmaison in France, where she was unanimously awarded the Prix d’Excellence and the Prix de Virtuosité with congratulations from the jury, as well as a unanimous chamber music prize in Michel Moraguès’s class. In 2012, she entered the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne in José-Daniel Castellon’s class. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in 2014 and her Master’s degree in Concert Interpretation in 2016. She was then admitted to the Hochschule Luzern as a Master Soloist in the class of Pirmin Grehl and Sarah Rumer, and successfully completed this Master’s degree in 2018. In 2016, she was awarded 2nd prize at the CNEM in Riddes (Switzerland), as well as the 1st Cultural Art Prize of the city of Yunlin (Taiwan). Then, in 2017, she won 2nd prize and the Special Prize at the 16th Gheorghe Dima International Competition (Romania), as well as a scholarship from the Irène Dénéréaz Foundation. Winner of the Nicati – deLuze scholarship in 2018. In the same year, she performed the Reinecke and Martin ballads as soloist with the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester under James Gaffigan at the KKL in Lucerne. She was invited to Romania to play as soloist with Transylvania State Philharmonic under Mika Eichenholz in 2020. She was awarded 3rd prize and best interpretation of Bohuslav Martinů’s sonata at the 30th Leoš Janáček Competition in the Czech Republic in 2024.
Fascinated by the idea of passing on her know-how, she was one of the first graduates in French-speaking Switzerland of the CAS in music teaching and special needs at the Hochschule der Künste in Bern, to offer access to music and an equal opportunity to learn an instrument to people with physical or mental disabilities. She is a flute teacher at the Multisite music school and at the Epis-b music school. Since 2017, she has been a member of the contemporary ensemble Diachronie, founder of the flute sextet – ensemble 6Rinx, and an artist with the association “Les Concerts du Coeur”. She performs regularly in Switzerland, France, Taiwan and China, and is a substitute musician with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne.
