The ensemble fokus was founded in 2022 by five young musicians and performs both as a classical wind quintet and as a flexible ensemble. As winners of the 1st Chamber Music Competition organised by the Paul Juon Foundation, the ensemble was accepted into the three-year support programme run by the Förderkreis Kammermusik Schweiz.
Their diverse concert engagements take them to venues including the Tonhalle Zurich, the Zermatt Festival, the Davos Festival and the Kunsthalle Appenzell.
The musicians come from all over Switzerland, Germany and France, which is why the ensemble has a national and international focus. It performs in various regions.
The ensemble’s aim is to make music accessible to everyone. Through new and creative outreach and concert formats, it builds a connection with the audience and seeks to inspire them with its music.
It performs regularly for “Les Concerts du Coeur” in French-speaking Switzerland, an association dedicated to bringing music to elderly, sick or disabled people. For young audiences, ensemble fokus offers, among other things, the interactive project “Puss in Boots”.
