
Karin began her musical training at the age of 4 under the direction of her mother LylTiempo and she continued her studies with Maria Curcio and Pierre Sancan. Martha Argerich, Nelson Freire, Daniel Barenboim, Nikita Magaloff and Rafael Orozco guide her on the road to music.
Her career has taken her to South America, Mexico, the United States, Europe, Japan and Australia, and to venues such as the Kennedy Center in Washington, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Suntory Hall in Tokyo and the Colón Theatre in Buenos Aires.
She participates in the international festivals of Menton, Toulouse, Montpellier, Holland, Colorado, Miami, Verbier, Lugano, Shlesswig-Holstein, Pietrasanta, Salzburg and Hamburg.
Karin Lechner has collaborated with Martha Argerich, Janos Starker, Barbara Hendricks, Viktoria Mullova and Mischa Maisky . She regularly plays two pianos withher brother, Sergio Tiempo, with whom she records several CD’s/DVD’s.
Her discography includes the two Brahms Concertos with the Berliner Symphoniker, amongst many others.
Karin began conducting in London, St John’s Smith Square, with her 9-year-old daughter Natasha Binder as a piano soloist.
In 2013 she was invited to Caracas to conduct Debussy, Ravel and Liszt with the Teresa Carreño Symphony Orchestra.
Karin is also part of the Trio Carlo van Neste.
Last year she made her debut playing with Sergio and Los Angeles Philarmonic with Gustavo Dudamel at the Hollywood Bowl.
