
Erol Ramadanović was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. After earning his bachelor’s and master’s in solo singing at the Sarajevo Music Academy, he started working on his vocal technique with renowned Croatian bass-baritone Giorgio Surian.
Past professional engagements include following operatic roles:
Il Conte d’ Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Sharpless (Madama Butterfly), Schaunard (La Boheme), Kruschina (The Bartered Bride), Ben Upthegrove (The Telephone), Fiorello (Il barbiere di Siviglia), The Hedgehog (The Hedgehog’s home), cover for Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) at the Sarajevo National Theatre.
He also performed the role of Sonora (La fanciulla del West) at the Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc in Rijeka and Ali Portuk (Nikola Šubić Zrinjski) at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb.
He performed the role of Uberto from G. B. Pergolesi’s “La serva padrona” at the “Majske muzičke svečanosti” festival held in Sarajevo, as part of his master’s exam.
More noteworthy concert activities include the gala concert with the Ensemble Orchestral de Bruxelles and Choeurs de l’Union Européenne under Maestro Jacques Vanherenthals, held at the Palais des Beaux-Arts (BOZAR) in Bruxelles.
In 2018, he attended the ISA18 program as a scholarship holder (International Summer Academy of the MDW – Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien).
He performed the role of Escamillo at the concert performances of G. Bizet’s “Carmen” throughout Slovenia in 2022, as part of George Pehlivanian’s Opera Academy.
He participated in the XXIII Encuentro de Música y Academia de Santander, held in Santander, Spain in 2024.
He actively participated in masterclasses held by Ramon Vargas, Janez Lotrič, Michael Schade and Edith Lienbacher.
He is studying for his master’s degree in dramaturgy at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in sports management.
Currently, he is a member of the opera ensemble at the Sarajevo National Theatre.
Since October 2023, he has been Artist in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel under the tutelage of José van Dam, Sophie Koch and Stéphane Degout.
