Crans-Montana Classics, Swiss Made Culture and Fondation Opale, united in their desire to commemorate and support, are organising a special concert entitled ‘Concert for the Stars’, a tribute to the victims of Crans-Montana, at the Church of Montana on February 14 at 7.30 pm.
For this evening, a string ensemble of 16 musicians, conducted by Sébastien Bagnoud, will be joined by soprano Franziska Heinzen. The concert will also feature violinist Michael Guttman and cellist Jing Zhao. Finally, pianist Loris Mittaz will close the evening with a tribute to all the victims of the Crans-Montana tragedy, as well as those who are still in hospital and fighting for their lives.
The concert has been designed as a space for silence, listening and sharing, where music becomes a common language when words continue to fail. Through this event, the organisers wish to offer a time to gather, remember and express collective solidarity, with respect and dignity. We believe in the deeply human virtues of music, which cannot erase pain but can help to bear it.
Admission is free, but reservations are required via this link.
Doors will open at 7 p.m.
