Viviana Peters, violin
Viviana Peters is a Swiss-American violinist currently studying at the Haute École de Musique Valais-Wallis in Gyula Stuller’s class. She studied in the United States with Sara Peters and later with Matthew Zerweck, whilst also benefiting from the mentorship of Charles Castleman.
Passionate about both the solo repertoire and chamber music, she performs regularly in concert in both genres. Among her notable engagements are solo performances with the San Antonio Sinfonietta in 2019, and in 2021 with her teacher. Passionate about chamber music, she takes part in numerous projects and festivals, notably the Castleman Quartet Programme in 2023, where her quartet worked under the guidance of Charles Castleman, Csaba Erdélyi and Claudia Hoca; concerts with Camerata San Antonio and at the Pulsion Winter Festival; and the 60th edition of the Tibor Varga Music Academy.
During her training, Viviana Peters received guidance and took part in masterclasses with musicians such as Elissa Koljonen, Paul Kantor, Chad Hoopes, Moni Simeonov, Angelo Xiang Yu, Pavel Vernikov, Svetlana Makarova and Anna Göckel. As a prize-winner at the 2023 KPAC competition, her performance was broadcast on TPR radio.
Manuel Marti Lopez, violin
Thanks to the Barenboim-Saïd Foundation, violist Manuel Marti Lopez has attended chamber music masterclasses with the Quiroga Quartet, Pavel Gomziakov and Joaquín Riquelme, and Michal Kanka (Prazak Quartet), and has had the pleasure of playing with Marek Jerie (Guarnieri Trio Prague), whilst collaborating with the Ainur Quartet. Passionate about chamber music, he has formed various ensembles (notably the Ainur Quartet, the Cuarteto Zóbel and the Quinteto Aeternum) with which he takes part in chamber music series in Bilbao, San Sebastián, Vitoria, Madrid, Toledo, Baeza and Seville.
Manuel Marti Lopez was a member of the Spanish National Youth Orchestra (JONDE), occasionally serving as principal viola, and has been conducted by various international figures such as Vassily Petrenko, Gordan Nikolic, Jonathan Nott, Nuno Coelho, Pablo Heras-Casado and Pablo González, amongst others.
Through the EFNYO European Youth Orchestras exchange programme, Manuel Marti Lopez has also performed with the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra (OJM) as principal viola. He is also a founding member of the Cuatro Caminos Ensemble-Orchestra in Madrid, with which he takes part in a wide range of projects (from collaborations with young composers and the founding of a sacred music festival to performances and incidental music).
He has studied under Nobuko Imai, Lawrence Power, David Quiggle, Thomas Riebl, Lars Anders Tomter, William Coleman, Josep Puchades, Alexander Zemtsov, Yuri Gandelsman, Germán Clavijo and Wenting Kang, amongst others.
Arnau Moncunill, viola
This Spanish violinist, originally from Alicante, is a student at the Lausanne University of Music. Whilst studying in Spain at ESMAR Music, he performed as a soloist and was a member of the Alicante Provincial Youth Orchestra.
He frequently performs in string quartets at events organised by the Valais School of Music and occasionally takes part in programmes with the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra. At the same time, he continues to give concerts in Spain, performing in duos with pianists such as Jesús Gómez and Pedro Marcado.
Loan Gil, cello
Loan Gil, a student at the Valais School of Music (HEMU), is a young cellist active in French-speaking Switzerland. On stage, she performs as a chamber musician with the ensemble of the Valais School of Music, where she is currently studying. She regularly performs a varied repertoire, ranging from piano quartets to string quintets and large cello ensembles. She is involved in the region’s cultural life, performing at Château Mercier in Sierre and the Fondation Opale in Lens. She often collaborates with other local artists such as Vatsana Cordani and Arthur Gautier, and takes part in various festivals such as PulSion and the Winter Festival.
