This unique event, a gateway to classical music for all, is enjoyed by young and old alike, thanks to the mastery of the musicians of the Valéik Philharmonik Orchestra conducted by Laurent Zufferey, the enthusiasm of comedian Eric Constantin and the animated illustrations of Grégoire Pont.
This year, audiences will discover the story of The Nutcracker, inspired by Hoffman’s tale and set to Tchaikovsky’s marvellous music composed in 1891. On Christmas Eve, a little girl receives a nutcracker in the shape of a soldier. The little girl is rather disappointed. But during the night, the enchantment begins and the toys come to life. This fable, which evokes the passage from childhood to adolescence, speaks of the immortal themes of love and the forces of evil, where willpower and courage make it possible to fulfil one’s dreams.
