Crans-Montana Classics is the enchantment of music and the euphoria of the peaks, a perfect symbiosis between Art and Nature.
We’re delighted to invite you to enjoy some exceptional musical moments in an enchanting setting.
A word from our President Gérard Bagnoud
Dear friends of Crans-Montana Classics,
We are very pleased to be able to welcome you again to our events in August and September. In particular, we are delighted to be able to present once again the Concert on the Golf Course, as well as several concerts as part of the String Quartet Masterclasses led by the Jerusalem Quartet. Four quartets from different backgrounds will have the opportunity to perfect their skills with your encouragement.
Discover our programme designed with the sole aim of giving you the pleasure of listening to great composers, brilliantly performed by musicians from Valais and the four corners of Europe.
This ambitious project is possible thanks to the kind attention and backing of local authorities, patrons, friends and sponsors who faithfully support us, and to whom we are extremely grateful.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
Kind regards,
Gérard Bagnoud
A word from our musical Director Michael Guttman
Dear friends of Crans-Montana Classics,
“A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, the title of our “Signature” concert this summer on the golf course, is obviously inspired by Mendelssohn’s masterpiece, which will be the main theme of this programme, in the majestic setting of the Crans-Montana Golf Course.
This dreamy title will transport us to the scents of Spain and its Aranjuez gardens, to France and Provence, to Mozart and the perilous Queen of the Night Aria, and finally to Ravel’s hypnotic Boléro as the grand finale.
Once you’ve recovered from your emotions, you can once again follow the Jerusalem Quartet – “don’t change a winning team” – through the concerts and master classes taking place until 11 August. It is rare to be shown something of the workings and secrets of one of the most perfect and respected ensembles in the world this way.
Summer will subtly become autumn, and we will be accompanying this change of seasons with three concerts in September:
The exceptional Trio Nota Bene, with whom some of you will be familiar, followed by a Russian-Ukrainian duo of virtuoso violinists Ksenia Milas and Oleksandr Semchuk. And finally, enjoy “music at your fingertips” from Loris Mittaz, pianist and composer, who will also be improvising freely on his piano and taking you into his wonderful world of sounds.
We wish you a wonderful musical season.
Michael Guttman
